Manhattan Fire Department
Manhattan provides protection to the City of Manhattan. It will respond into surrounding jurisditions when requested under mutual aid. They provide fire suppression, prevention, and inspection; medical first response; basic and advanced rescue services. Technical rescue qualififed including water rescue, high-angle rescue, confined space rescue. Hazardous materials response from operations to technician level.

MFD protects a population of 52,836, 15 square mile area, with 76 personnel, responding to 2,554 alarms from 5 stations, 1 battalion, with 5 engines, 1 truck, 1 rescue, 1 brush unit, 2 ARFF units, and several staff vehicles.
