About Us
History:
In October 2009 KansasFireTrucks.com went online. Modeled after another state wide fire apparatus site for the State of Indiana, KansasFireTrucks.com was born. Our goal is to try and showcase at least a department from every county in Kanas with the ultimate goal of photographing every fire truck in Kansas. We hope that you find the photos useful, informative, and interesting. Please check back often, as we will be posting new photos all the time. If you would like us to come photograph your department please e-mail us at kansasfiretrucks@gmail.com and we can get something scheduled.
Andy Thomas (Webmaster/Photographer)
About Andy:
Andy Thomas is a volunteer photographer for the Wichita Fire Department. Andy is 27 years old and is married and has one daughter. Andy is the Production Manager at Kice Industries in Wichita, KS. He has an Associate Degree in Fire Science from Hutchinson Community College, and Bachelor Degree from Kansas State University. He is a certified Firefighter I and II. He was a member of Riley County Fire Dist. 1 for two years while attending Kansas State University, and rose to the rank of Lieutenant. He also was a photographer for Manhattan Fire Department in Manhattan, KS before coming to Wichita. He is the State Coordinator for Kansas Chapter of the International Fire Photographers Association. He is a member of the FOOLS of OZ Chapter and webmaster for their website. He also maintains and created WichitaFire.org, WSCFireReserve.org, ExplorerPost881.com, AndoverFireRescue.org, and the WFRA.com websites. In his spare time he enjoys fire scene and apparatus photography, hunting, and hanging out with his wife.
Aaron Mattson (Statewide Photographer)

About Aaron:
Aaron Mattson started buffing in 1984 growing up in Willmar, MN. He moved from Minnesota to Kansas where he lived in Olathe, Manhattan, Hutchinson, and Wichita. He joined the Wichita/Sedgwick County Explorer Program in 1987 and was active until 1993. In 1993 he moved to Mulvane and joined Mulvane Emergency Services. Today he is a full time police officer with the City of Wichita and is a volunteer firefighter with Mulvane. He is a Kansas Law Enforcement Officer, Kansas EMT, Firefighter I and II, Haz-Mat Ops, and Driver/Operator. He is a member of the Extra Alarm Club of Twin Cities, International Fire Photographers Association, and supports the Kansas Firefighters Museum. In his spare time he enjoys apparatus and station photography, historical archieves ofthe fire service and fire scene photography.

Rick Mosher (East KS Photographer)
About Rick:
Rick Mosher has been a firefighter for fourteen years and has had a life long interest in the fire service. He currently serves as a career Fire Lieutenant for the City of Merriam, Kansas Fire Department where he has been a member for thirteen years. In addition to being assigned to an Engine Co. or Truck Co. in Merriam he handles fire training and public education programs for the department. He is an active fire instructor working as Adjunct Faculty for Johnson County Community College in the Fire Academy Course. He also teaches as an Associate Instructor for the University of Kansas Fire and Rescue Training Institute in the Fire Officer I and II Courses. Rick holds an Associates of Arts degree and Fire Service Administration from Johnson County Community College and a Bachelors of Arts in Management and Human Relations from MidAmerica Nazarene University. Rick is a member of Fire Education Association of Kansas FEAK. He currently represents FEAK on the Kansas Fire Service Training Commission. Rick is an active member of the Wheat State FOOLS & FOOLS of Oz Chapters, International Society of Fire Service Instructors ISFSI, International Association of Firefighters IAFF Local Sixty-Four, and Kansas Chapter of International Fire Photographers Association IFPA. In his spare time he enjoys teaching various fire service topics hands on and lecture, reading, researching fire department/fire apparatus history, photographing fire apparatus/fire houses, and model railroading.
Wes Hill (NC/NE KS Photographer)
About Wes:
Wes Hill has been living his life long dream in the fire service for 11 years. Currently he is a Driver/Operator for the Fort Riley Fire Department. He has been with the department for seven years. On top of his normal Driver duties he handles fire investigations and the EMS training program for the department. He has his Fire Science Degree from Hutchinson Community College, a dozen IFSAC Certifications, and is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator. He currently resides in Solomon, KS with his wife and two beautiful children. He is an active member with the Solomon Volunteer FD. Wes loves spending time with his wonderful family, teaching to local fire departments, and being a member of the biggest BROTHERHOOD in the WORLD!
